I was born here, on this beautiful island, and I know Zanzibar like the back of my hand. For many years I've been showing guests the real Zanzibar — its people, culture, nature and hidden places you won't find in typical tourist guides.

I speak Polish, English and Swahili, so you can feel comfortable, safe and truly enjoy your time here.

My goal is simple — to share the authentic Zanzibar with you and create unforgettable memories.

Tides

When is low tide?

The ocean around Zanzibar retreats by up to a kilometre. The Nakupenda sandbank, the starfish and the wading shallows only appear at low tide — that's why Bili times departures to the tides.

Times are astronomical estimates (±about 1 h) for planning, not navigation. Bili confirms the exact departure time.

When is the best time to visit Zanzibar?

Most reliable weather: June–October (dry, 26–30°C) and December–February (hot, up to 33°C). Long rains usually April–May, short rains in November. Tours run all year.

How do booking and payment work?

You agree everything with Bili on WhatsApp: programme, date, price. Payment details are confirmed when you book. On the island it's easiest to carry US dollars in cash — cards mostly work in hotels and bigger restaurants.

What currency is used?

Tanzanian shilling (TZS). US dollars are widely accepted in tourism — bring notes issued after 2009, unfolded and unmarked. ATMs are in Stone Town and larger towns.

Are there park and marine fees?

Yes, some places charge entry (Jozani, Prison Island) and since September 2025 sea trips carry a Marine Conservation Fee. Bili tells you clearly what's included when quoting.

Does Bili pick up from hotels?

Yes — from any hotel on the island and from the airport. Time and place are confirmed the day before.

What should I bring on a tour?

High-factor sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, swimwear, towel, a swim shirt, water and some cash. For Stone Town and villages: clothing covering shoulders and knees.

Which tours depend on the tides?

Nakupenda, the starfish beach and parts of Safari Blue — the sandbank and shallows are only there at low tide. The site shows a 7-day tide table and Bili picks the departure time.

Is Zanzibar safe?

Yes, it's a calm island. The most common problem is beach touts selling tours — which is why you book directly with a licensed guide. Don't carry lots of cash to the beach and respect local customs.

SIM card and internet?

A local SIM (Airtel, Vodacom, Halotel) costs a few dollars at the airport or in town; you need your passport. Bili knows where it's cheapest.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Most are: Prison Island, Spice Farm, Jozani, boat trips in calm bays. Bili adjusts the pace and length of the day. Fly-in safaris are recommended from about age 6.
