Safari Blue: uninhabited islands, coral reef

Traditional boat, Menai Bay, a baobab, lunch under the palms, a mangrove lagoon and snorkelling.

Duration: Full day (departure around 8:00)

Around 8:00 we leave the hotel for Fumba village and sail on a traditional wooden boat to the famous Safari Blue — one of Zanzibar's most scenic sea adventures. Our destination is Menai Bay, a protected area full of uninhabited islets, turquoise lagoons and white sandbanks revealed only at low tide.

Baobab. A visit to one of the oldest baobabs in Zanzibar — the “guardian of the island” in local stories. Its trunk is so wide that several people fit inside.

Lunch prepared on the island: freshly grilled seafood under the palms with an ocean view. If you don't eat seafood or have an allergy, there is another option — just tell us in advance.

Mangrove forest. A lagoon surrounded by mangroves — at high tide you can swim in this natural “green cathedral”.

Snorkelling. Masks, fins, vests and a reef teeming with life: colourful fish, coral gardens and underwater formations that make Safari Blue so loved.
