Nungwi: fishing village, sea turtles, sunset in Kendwa
Dhow boat-building, the fish market, swimming with turtles and sunset on Kendwa beach.
Duration: Afternoon (about 13:00–19:00)
Nungwi and the fish market. We start around 13:00 in Nungwi village, where we see the everyday life of local fishermen and the place where Zanzibar's dhow boats are built by hand from wood. Then the fish market — the heart of this community, where freshly caught fish, squid and seafood arrive every day.
Sea turtles. A turtle aquarium where you can feed the turtles and swim with them. Adults and children love it alike.
Kendwa. A few minutes away, one of Zanzibar's most beautiful beaches: relaxing, barefoot walks on soft sand and a spectacular sunset. Optional sunset cruise on a traditional dhow with a sail (extra charge). Back at the hotel around 19:00.
