Day 1: Tarangire. Morning hotel pick-up, flight to Arusha and a safari in Tarangire National Park — impressive elephant herds, savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobabs; Masai giraffes, zebras, buffalo, lions, leopards and hundreds of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Fanaka Lodge in Mto Wa Mbu.
Day 2: Serengeti — endless plains. Drive through the Karatu highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Seronera, the central Serengeti, where the river sustains the wildlife. Lunch and an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Osinon Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 3: Serengeti and the Great Migration. A morning game drive looking for the hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras and Thomson's gazelles on the move. In the afternoon, drive to the Ngorongoro crater rim, dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater — the Big Five. An early descent to the crater floor: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, plus warthogs, wildebeest, hippos and over 500 bird species. Picnic lunch, return to Arusha, flight to Zanzibar and hotel transfer.
