Prison Island
Giant tortoises and history.
Duration: Half day (about 3–4 h)
Changuu, known as Prison Island, is 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town. The former prison and quarantine station is now home to Aldabra giant tortoises — some over 150 years old.
We feed the tortoises, hear the island's story, then swim and snorkel off the beach.
